Cartoon competition
Presentation :
The Atrium branch, as a part of its project to beautify the Madou district, felt that it would be a good idea during the year of the cartoon to organise a competition on the theme "Saint-Josse, a vibrant city". The artists will receive a copy of the future prospects outline for the Madou district to provide inspiration.
The winning design will be reproduced on a tarpaulin intended to conceal an urban eyesore located at 89, chaussée de Louvain and the artist will win the sum of €750.
Objective :
To create an artistic event intended to beautify the district as part of the extension of the cartoon-centred events in the city of Brussels.
District concerned : Madou
Project dates :
- November 20 2008 : competition closes
- December 13 2008 : winner announced
- March 31 2009 : tarpaulin produced and installed
Target groups :
- Regular customers in the Saint-Josse shopping areas,
- Saint Josse residents and traders,
- Other users : pedestrians, cyclists, drivers or public transport users.
Advertising and distribution :
- Contact established with local and regional press who will also be invited to the unveiling of the tarpaulin.
Because of it high visibility, the project will be « self-advertising ».
