Christmas lights
Presentation :
The Saint-Josse Atrium branch wanted to add to the existing Christmas lights in Place Saint-Josse, thus contributing to the attractiveness of the square and surrounding areas over the holiday period.
Objectives :
To add to the existing lights by placing illuminated friezes on the higher ledge of the Church and on the façades of some of the businesses located around Place Saint-Josse. "Happy Christmas" messages in French and Dutch were also attached on either side of the main door of the Church.
District concerned : Place Saint-Josse and the Church.
Project date :
- Beginning of September 2007, choosing lights for the businesses and signage for the Church,
- October 2007, requests for estimates sent out to various companies,
- Beginning of December 2007, lights fitted.
Target group(s) :
- Regular customers in the Saint-Josse shopping areas
- Saint Josse residents and people passing through
Achievements and results expected :
To create a festive atmosphere and make the area more attractive.
Partnerships mobilised :
- The "Le Berceau de Saint-Josse" [Saint-Josse Cradle] traders' association, who coordinated the project
- The municipality of Saint-Josse, represented by Mr. Eric Jassin, Deputy Burgomaster responsible for Trade
Budget :
The total budget for this project is €18,000, with €10,000 coming from a subsidy through a regional call for proposals.
Follow-up and management :
Maintenance was taken care of by the company which fitted the lights, Leblanc Illuminations.
