Presentation :
The renovation of the façades and the matching of colour schemes are both part of a beautification campaign for the Madou district. This project has been seriously delayed because of the amendment made to the municipal city planning regulations.
The renovation of the façades and shop frontages is much needed and is a response to the Cooparch report and the recommendations set out in the future prospects outline.
Project objective :
To boost the two existing grants by the addition of a grant for the shop frontages. In actual fact, the regional grant covers 75% of the work and the municipal premium stands at 25% of the regional grant. By proposing a grant for the shop frontages, Atrium is stimulating renovation and making it coherent (complete renovation of the building, from top to bottom).
District concerned : The Chaussée de Louvain from Place Madou to Rue des Deux Tours.
Project dates :
Renovations should have begun at the end of 2007 and been completed by the end of 2008. Since they were connected to the municipal regulation relating to the use of colours on façades, the project has fallen seriously behind schedule.
Reasoning behind the project :
The Cooparch report reached a very negative conclusion about the state of the buildings, particularly in the shopping areas. This call for proposals is a response to that finding.
